"When I started this project, I wanted to take some portraits, but this time in a different way: this time not using a camera. My intention within "Le Soleil Moribond" is to take natural portraits of particular women when they are not "selling" their bodies, but are instead in a state of both intimacy and solitude, as if they'd forgotten that they are visible to an audience. I'm not interested in the "social" or "voyeuristic" aspects of this work. For me, it is as if these images came from another world, where the sun never shines - a world with no windows, no human contact, no love - only solitude and artificial light."
